Do you know any publishers working with international bloggers? I know that US publishers mostly send arc only to US bloggers, UK publishers to Uk bloggers and so on. I don't want to work with my publishers from my country (Poland) because I write my blog in English and they won't accept it. I use Netgalley but it's more about printed ARCs... Anyone knows?
I don't know but I second your question, I'm wondering about the same thing too :)
You wont know unless you try. I would email the publisher's of the books that you would like, and maybe include 'international' in the subject line. That way, if they don't accept international, no harm, no foul. :)
You could also open yourself up to indie authors. A lot of them are happy to ship outside of their own country. I live in the UK and have received books from the US, Canada and Australia. I, in turn have, shipped my own book to the US, Australia, Czech Republic, India, and Romania for review. I agree with you, the world is getting smaller and there is no real reason to limit yourself to just one country.
I work with indie authors! But actually those I worked with wanted to send me only ebooks, which I understand because sipping is not cheap really. And now I barely can read because I read on my phone (I don't have Kindle) and I have horrible headaches because of it plus my eyes get tired really easily as they are after surgery as I was almost blind when I was small and now I have astigmatism and more problems with eyes. It came out that ebooks are not so perfect for me :(
Well, I suppose I can understand that. Shipping (plus the cost of the actual book) can add up, and some books are only available in eformat to start with. Other than just being upfront and firm about what you accept, I think Mean@TheBookBabe has the best suggestion. It can't hurt to ask publishers if they ship internationally. The worst that can happen is the say "no," probably very politely.
Hi. Sadie. I have sold some books outside the US, but my UK sales seem to be diminishing. I would love to do some promotion in the UK. Do you know any way I can accomplish this? Are there any blogging sites like this one in the UK where I can promote my books. Thank you.
Make sure to have a clear review policy that states your location and what formats you accept. It'll help increase the odds of publishers deciding to work with you. I'm in the US, but I've received a few books from the UK that were in print format. It generally takes a while though to build up your blog enough for publishers to be willing to send out review copies.
I'm a UK based author with pretty much the same problem! A lovely friend of mine gave me a list of potential reviewers and all bar two of them are based in the US. Love you guys loads! You've got some crazy stuff going on over there and I'm desperate to get stuck in. :) Now I'm on the hunt for non-US based reviewers to send the book to.
Maybe we should do a group for "international" blogges and authors? :) I see it's common..
I'd sign up for that! :)
tribute books sends international but as e-books
I'm a member of this group: UK bloggers. It's not very active, but that could always change.
