Hi, I'm Destiny. I am a full time artist, a business woman, and the mother of three just grown sons. I just released my first book, Shaping Destiny: A quest for meaning in art and life, which is currently ranked #7 on Kindle for best book in category based on customer reviews.

Hello,
My book "Say Not What If" is a "Great Read" on Digital Book Today this week, www.digitalbooktoday.com. You can read more about the book at http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12788920-say-not-what-if.
“Say Not What If” is about a man on death row, and has as its theme the concept that time is our most valuable commodity. As someone once said, “waste anything but time, because we really are promised no tomorrows.” This theme is explored through the life of a man who sacrifices his marriage and everything else for his career. He realizes much too late the terrible consequences of this decision, and then desperately tries to regain those lost years by making a much worse choice. The resolution of this latter choice involves an additional examination of the concepts of accountability and responsibility, redemption, and the morality of the death penalty.
Many reviewers agreed that the story is easy to follow, and have also described it as "exceptional," "amazing," "incredibly special," "borderline genius," "a lyrical masterpiece," "gripping and compelling," "thought provoking," and a "beautifully written piece of literature." The story has a better than average rating of 4/5 stars on Goodreads and Amazon. There are more than sixty ratings and forty written reviews on Goodreads, and at least eighteen ratings and reviews on Amazon.
This story will tear at your soul. As many of the reviewers said, it only requires an hour or so to read, but will keep you thinking about its message long after you are finished. Time is quintessentially important and valuable. How much time do you have? Life is tenacious, but also tenuous. It is fleeting, not forever.
The story can be purchased from many booksellers, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It can also be purchased for only 0.99 as an ebook for Kindle.
Best wishes.

Hello, John L Dunegan here, author of "My Half of Tomorrow'.’My Half of Tomorrow' is a new and interesting twist to time travel. No jumping through blue circles to a different time and place. The plot is support with just enough science to make it believable but not too much to be boring. Story about three young people that become connected via a natural occurrence. I currently live in Dallas and working on sequel.

Permalink Reply by Christine Amsden on May 29, 2012 at 12:48pm Hi, I'm Christine Amsden, and I'm an author AND a reviewer. I write science fiction, fantasy, and will soon release a romantice fantasy series. I review...whatever strikes me as interesting. Fantasy and romance are two big favorites, especially together (go figure), but I'm also interested in scifi, mystery, suspense, and YA.
I sometimes think my lack of focus is a disadvantage in selling myself, both as a writer and a reviewer. The title of my blog is my name, and my subtitle is what I do -- write, review, and teach (the last not being particularly relevant here). I can't specialize, though -- the idea turns my stomach. I suppose if I do any one thing, it's dream.

I guess I am in the right place as I wrote a book, my memoirs. I started by writing a book about how to trade, but that has been done to death. To say my experience has been interesting would be an understatement. In order to better help people learn to trade and invest, I decided to write the true story of how I learned to trade and what happened to me on the way.
After four college degrees (avoiding a real job), I went to Wall Street and worked as a bond analyst, an underwriter and then a trader for over a decade. I have never seen a real news story, a movie or even a documentary about what life was like as a professional trader. Think 'college frat house' mixed in with crazier people and more risk. Mix in my ex lesbian girlfriend, an insane amount of drive and walking into a wall of risk every day and ... meet Rob.
I currently still live in Manhattan and am still a slight bit insane. After living a life the way I did, 'regular' life is just a bit boring.
My book has a love story, an anti-hero, strong characters and adventure. Everything is true. I challenge anyone writing a real story that rivals what I went through. Am I proud of that? Yes because I am still alive and no because I willingly put myself into these situations. Well, at least most of them.
Now I have to figure out how to sell a million copies of my Indie book. I know, practically impossible.
So, if anyone can throw me some advice, review my book, buy twenty-thousand copies or at least send me a good joke... I am all ears.
Rob

Memories of our Fathers
For children reared in an orphanage, Father’s Day can be very sad. It brings to mind loss, absences and disturbing memories. This year, I hope to provide a positive means for some of those children who grew up, as I did, in the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphan's Home (The Ohio Veterans Children's Home) to express love and appreciation for their fathers. I've extended the invitation to post about memories of their fathers here, if it will be of comfort to them. I'll begin this series of tributes with a few of my memories of three men who acted as fathers for me, stepping in to fill the void after my father died.

Hello!
I am an author of Children's, YA and soon to be Adult books. I love writing, have eleven books out, and I love to hear what children say about my books! Even better, I love to see them reading my books. I just joined the blogging community a few weeks ago, and am just catching on, so please be patient with me.
Besides writing, I am an English instructor at a local community college, the mother of a highly intelligent 17 year old in her second year of college, and a wife and part time farmer...
I've lost many family members, young and old, since 2003, and find it really helps me relieve the grief of these losses by writing. I hope to make many new friends and gain much knowledge about marketing my books through blogging.
