So, the holiday season is almost upon us and everyone is frantically making lists of who's been naughty and nice, and what they deserve to get this year.  As everyone becomes consumed with holiday shopping, they are probably devoting less time to reading and buying books.  Does anyone have any suggestions for marketing during the holidays?  Is it worthwhile to invest time and money into promotion during this busy time, or is it best to just let things take care of themselves and start fresh in the New Year?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Its best to get promoting/plugging them books. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years is around the corner. People are looking for deals, they looking for holiday gifts. So its time to promote them books

Thanks, Isiah.  I will.

Hmmm . . . I'm doing a Halloween giveaway now and might do another one in December.  I'm also thinking about hosting a "Holiday Party" chatroom, although I know chatrooms can be tough as it's hard to schedule everyone at the same time.  I'm new to the game myself, so I don't know of any other ideas though.  Good luck! :)

Thanks.  Those sound like good ideas.

Hi Irina. The holiday season is a great time to market your book but keep in mind big, smaill and indie publishers alike are doing the same. An idea is to find a niche for your book and market it then. For instance, let's say you have a nonfiction book about the best beaches to visit in the world. You may want to market this book to target sells for the spring and summer seasons. Or if your fiction book involves a story that focuses on a government conspiracy or mystery then target marketing for sells around a major govt holiday such as President's day.

You can still hit the holiday buying season but find other ways to put your book out there and promote it as must buy. Thanks!
