Has anyone tried this new social networking to market? It is very addictive and the right place to share your books etc. I just joined and am more active than FB and Twitter. I am members of all these networking places. Here're the links.

Too soon to tell if it has had any effect on sales, but certainly lots of followers.

I link pins to Facebook and Twitter when they go up as well as direct people to my Pinterest page from my website and blog.

I guess it is a case of watch this space!!

We have just signed on to Pinterest. Still trying to navigate it. Like all social media, it takes some commitment to make it work. Will keep you posted.

We have been using fb, but are now trying something new. A live radio internet interview. We will see how this works. Her is the URL if you are interested in more information or listening to our interview this evening. http://www.voiceamerica.com/worldtalkradio/vshow.aspx?sid=764

I write a book blog  featuring contemporary fiction and non fiction..short reviews and opinions. I am not selling any books. How would Pinterest help my blog? I have a lot of page views but am wondering how it would be an advantage for a book blog with no books for sale.

Joyce - you can add links and quotes from your books as well as covers. Its all exposure. When you pin something it stays on the main board for hours which means hundreds of thousands/millions of people will see it. Like I said, I haven't had any sales figures since I started pinning but the boards I have for my books (erotic romance) have hundreds of followers already.

Here is a link to the page I have created for my sexy series about ice hockey. I have lifted the covers from the publishers website which means they are linked directly to a buy page.

Hi

Hope someone can offer some advice and guidance - I've just signed up with Pinterest since everyone seems to be raving about it, and I can't figure out how to actually 'pin' anything to the boards.  I want to put put pics etc, but I can't seem to find any instructions to do so.  I've been able to fill out the 'description' and 'category' areas, but the board itself is blank.

What am I doing wrong?

Linda

Have you installed the Pin It button which goes onto your toolbar?

Do you mean the actual main toolbar?  When I drag the icon over it goes to a plus network website?

Oh, it's okay - found it at last!

Thanks - I'm off to pin some stuff!  :)

Great make sure you find me so we can follow :-) (I write 18+ stuff though so only if appropriate.)

And beware - pinning is addictive, sometimes you have to say NO to "see more pins"  !!!!

I just joined up to Pinterest and am awaiting approval. I'm curious to see how this place works and help promote my titles.
