I have noticed many authors who have multiple blogs. Please share if you have one or many blogs. And what is advantage of many blogs. I have only one blog. I don't know much about blogs and what to do with it. Here's my blog: http://drdhillon.blogspot.com/

Thanks.

One blog is normally enough. However, I have 3 of them (I mostly ignore one, the blog for random stuff), but that's because I blog in 2 languages, English and Serbian, since I also write in 2 languages.

One blog is best unless you're writing about two very different things.  For example, I write a book review blog, but if I were to want to start talking about recipes, then it would probably be best for me to start a second blog because readers would likely be interested in one topic but not the other.

You don't want to have too many blogs because it makes it difficult to focus on any of them and to put in the amount of time to make them successful.

Books Without Any Pictures

Ideally I would have two or three blogs. I have a book blog. I would like to start one on political and social issues. A third blog on food and beer would round out the theoretical trio. I have absolutely no time to write two additional blogs however. Instead I touch on the politics and social issues just a little bit on my book blog.  As for food and beer, perhaps when I retire in about seventy or eighty years! I also do a little tweeting about all of these subjects.

I know one author who has three unrelated blogs that have thousands of followers. He started these blogs three years ago and carefully cultivated the member numbers by posting consistent and interesting topics. When he decided to self-publish a year ago, he already had a huge reader base. Today he is one of the highest paid authors on multiple vendor sites, with an incredible sales rank. So, I think multiple blots can really bring in a reader population, especially if they are in place prior to a book or many books release.

I just started my blog, Guerrilla Warfare For Writers (tips and tricks on publishing), and I believe it's a whopping success, considering I had barely any traffic at all to my website. I don't know if I really have time for multiple blog sites. You can see my (one) here;
