I posted a review on my blog a day or so ago and someone let me know that it is posted here on someone else's blog. Not the whole thing, just part of it and they include a link to my original post. Is that stealing? It looks like every post on their blog is the beginning of someone else's posts with links back to theirs.

Don't they have to clear it with me first? Is there anything I can do about it? Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah I guess it's okay since it was quote. You're right we quote all the time.
Actually it is a GOOD thing. The more links you get to your blog from someone else's blog or website, the more Google thinks you are relevant. Google will push you closer to the top of their search engine if you have lots of links to your blog. The closer to the top, the more people will see you and click on your link. The more people to your blog, the better - right?

Haven't you ever wondered why there is so much FREE material on the net? It is exactly for this reason (plus a few more)

So my advice is to encourage people to use your reviews - as long as they link back to your site in the process - it's definitely WIN-WIN.

Thanks, I hadn't thouight of that.
I agree, it's a good thing. Whenever we get reviews of our books, we include links and sometimes quotes from them in our newsletter, sometimes on the book's webpage at Eternal Press. Always, always we include a link though. Definitely want to give credit where it is due.
It would be courteous of them to ask you if they could post it. however, they are linking to the original post and only pasting a small portion of your review...I'm not sure if that is stealing, but I would contact the owner and ask them to remove it if you don't want it on their site.
This seems like the bottom line to me:

It seems to me that if it was any other site/blog that had their own original content AS WELL it would be a good thing that they quoted part of my review and linked to it.

However the fact that they don't have any original content makes it not fair. They shouldn't be making money of of everyone else's blog posts.
Exactly!!
Looks like a pathetic blogger trying to get some content.

At the least, though they link back to you so it is actually good for your blog because it means more exposure for it.
