As I have been scouring the blogosphere and finding more and more new bloggers out there I have noticed there are a few things that new bloggers tend to forget - like to put a following button on their site. Also the comment section is messing up so they aren't getting any comments. Links aren't working etc. I have been trying to email people if I see problems like this. If you are a new blogger and have questions...or if you just want someone to come and check out your blog and give you a critique...I thought this could be the place to do it.

Why haven't I gotten a comment on my blog?
How do I host a blog tour?
Any question you have, I'm sure if I can't help you find the answer, someone might stop by with the right info.

I'm also going to start posting tips and tricks that I've learned along the way.

I don't know if anyone's asked this before, but I had a question about copyrighting my blog. Should I do it? How would I do it? etc. etc.

If you're in the United States, your words are already copyrighted even if you don't do anything formal. You can put a copyright notice in your footer and in your RSS feed. Depending on how your blog is set up you can either do it manually or you can use a plug in.

Okay, I'm not sure if this discussion is still going, because the last reply was a while ago, but I have two questions. I'm a new blogger, who just started my own book blog:

and here are my questions:
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong- and maybe it's too early to start asking, since I've only had the blog for a few weeks now, but I'm not getting any traffic to my blog. Is there any way I can get people come and read my blog- have them follow? If you have any blog pointers, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
And another question is that I see a lot of people with this image that they call "buttons," where other people from other blogs can post that image on their "blog roll" (I think its called). I've made a button, but I'm not farmilar enough with HTML to figure out how to get it on my blog with the link of the picture showing at the bottom. Is there any way you could tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've typed in the code for my "button" and then I try typing in the code for the little box with the link inside of it, but it fails to work each time. Each time it comes up with the same 2 pictures... I'm at a loss.

I'm also a "tortoise" rather than a "hare" when it comes to finding followers, so I don't know whether I'm the best person to give you tips. But here are three things most people seem to agree work well:

1) Commenting on other people's blogs--and not just to say "Nice review!"
2) Joining memes and link ups
3) Signing up for reading challenges

As for sharing your button, here is the "grab code" I use:

Just replace all the brackets with the corresponding "greater than" and "less than" signs.
