Ning closing free networks

I don't post on here much, but I spend a lot of time reading - Book Blogs is one hell of a resource.  So I'm wondering how today's announcement will effect Book Blogs?

This is the cost of each member or of the person who runs the network. So the network will cost $49.95 per month for the person who administrates the network?

Does this mean that there will be a way for members to support a network through micropayments if they want or is it only for the person who runs the network to pay.

Hi Everyone,
I just got a notice from Book Place, which is also hosted by Ning, that they are officially shutting down as soon as Ning implements the pay policy. They give the date as July 20th! Is there any more info on what we all are going to do on Book Blogs? I love this forum!
