What was ONE book that changed your life?  I'm interested in WHEN this happened and how that precise moment was so right for the change brought about by the book...

For me it would be Nancy Drew books when I was in about third grade.  Until that point in time, I hated reading.  What I didn't realize was that it wasn't reading that I hated, but the dumb kids stories that provided no intellectual stimulation.  Nancy Drew was different... it was fun to read, and made my third grade self think about what was behind the mysterious happenings that Nancy encountered.  If I hadn't discovered those books, I wouldn't be the aspiring librarian and book blogger that I am today.

I don't know that I can opeg any one book that changed my life...it's just more like books have always been a part of my life.  I'll hop on the Nancy Drew loving bandwagon though:)  My mother taught me to read on Nancy Drew books when I was in preschool and I've been reading and loving it ever since.  (Through second hand experience though I can say that there definitely was a book that changed my exes life.  I encouraged him to join a book group with me that was reading The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan.  Being a long time vegetarian the book greatly appealed to me.  In the middle of the book my ex also became a vegetarian and has never looked back.)
