I've just started a blog at www.newbooksnigeria.wordpress.com and I sometimes have stats as low as 3 views in a whole day. I wonder if there's something I can do to improve this situation and get more people viewing my blog?
Please share how you succeeded with yours?

About three weeks, might it be too early to expect a lot of visits?

Very early.

Comment on other blogs! If you're not sharing the love, why should other people? Not to mention, it's a great way to find and meet new bloggers.

True, I try but I know it will take sometime to bond with other bloggers. And, I thought that blogs are written for readers not other bloggers?

They are written for both but a good majority of your readers are going to be other bloggers.
Try tagging your posts. For example if you wrote a book review for The Hunger Games but only titled it "The Hunger Games" it might show up in some Google searches for The Hunger Game book reviews. BUT if you title it "Book Review: The Hunger Games" and tagged it book review, you're going to show up in many more searches. I've been doing that since I started my blog and it's always brought me good traffic. The traffic has only gotten better as I've become more "popular". You can use this technique for any type of book blog.

Thanks a lot for this tip, Alison.

- The biggest thing - content! The more you blog (consistently, not 10 posts a day), the more traffic it will bring in.
- Visit other blogs. Comment. Follow for a follow.
- Hang out around here - people are always looking for more online friends.

Yes, consistency, I'll try to keep going even though sometimes I feel so unmotivated.
Permalink Reply by Chris Stevenson on April 17, 2012 at 4:17pm I belong to several writing sites and forums that support sig boxes. I always title my blog in my sig, using a nice contrasting color (bold-face), and provide the link. Some writing sites have threads that permit you to announce new posts on your blog, like AbsoluteWrite.com. I also announce new blog posts on FB, Twiter, several display sites, Goodreads, here and LinkedIn. Also, commenting and joining other blogs is a good way to increase your exposure and motivate social interaction.

Thanks a lot, Chris.

Promote on Facebook, here, Twitter, ect. (just don't spam! Make it relevant)
Also, join review groups and do giveaways.
