Some of us like to look for new memes or like to read the memes and there are so many out there that we may be missing some great ones since they aren't "popular".
I don't participate in many and when I do, it's not very often. I like reading them, like "Fill In Fridays", "What are You Reading Mondays", I know Sheila has a Balderdash one that is really funny to read. I believe Jenny is still doing Throwback Thursdays, which is great for bringing us back to the past!
I like to do In My Mailbox, especially if I have some great books I am excited about and want to share or won some contests and want to do a shout out to the blog hosts, authors, or companies (publishers. etc) who hosted.

I started one about 3 weeks ago called Show Me 5 Saturday. It is a way to get a little blip about a book you are reading out there. I really enjoy it, and would love to have anyone visit. I haven' updated this week's because I was out of town. Here is my meme from last week.
