I have been in that region and ever since loved reading about it, reliving my adventures and banging my head against the wall wishing to go back again and look at things with more informed eyes.
The publisher is giving away one copy of this book— use the Rafflecopter form at the end of the post to enter.

I was thrilled to learn that Spacek as a child had the spunk of Judy Blume’s Sally J. Friendman and the tomboyishness of Harper Lee’s Scout Finch. While it was awful to learn of her terrible family tragedy, I was thrilled that she used her grief to follow her dreams of becoming a performer.

God’s Middle Finger: Into the Lawless heart of the Sierra Madre by Richard Grant is a non-fiction book about the author’s “tour” of Mexico’s Sierra Madre region. Mr. Grant is a British journalist who came to the other side of the pond in search of strangeness and adventure – I think he found both.

Allegra is a paranormal investigator whose toe twitches whenever something unusual comes too near. Well, at least, that’s what happened in the first books in this series. She cut her toe big time on a coral reef early in this book and her radar was off. She’s got a sexy guardian angel named Casper who she loves but can’t have. Other than that, life is great — she’s got a job in paradise (the south pacific), helping to stop a war between the Mers and the Goblins by tracking down stolen treasure. Rrrrrrrr!

"Have only just started so will update when finished but first impressions are great. I'm only 40 pages in and I'm hooked. Can't wait to finish work to get back to this tale.
UPDATE
Finished this book now, i couldn't put it down.
A really fab read, love story with twists and turns and a decent ending. One of those smiley happy feel good books that leave you on a high the rest of the day.
Would recommend this to all who love to read a nice book with plenty of action, emotion and surprise. "
