Here's a review I did of Mickey Spillane's My Gun Is Quick (1950). A great introduction to Spillane and Mike Hammer if you haven't read any of it before now.

One of my favourite books is Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill. It's part of her Chicagoland Vampires series. (book 4).

This is probably my favorite review - not my favorite book - because of the professional connection I had to the topic. It's a review of The Color of Atmosphere by Dr. Maggie Kozel, a memoir about her journey to become a pediatrician and her eventual decision to walk away from medicine altogether.
