Okay, so now I am emailing about 10 bloggers daily with information and links concerning my book and only get 1 or 2 responses on a good day. As I email more bloggers, it gets harder to find new links I haven't tried (because, e.g., they are no longer accepting reviews or do not review indie books). My question is - do you think I could email some of previous bloggers again or is their non-response a clear indication for me to buzz off. (I know some specifically clarify that their non-response indicates their lack of interest but I was wondering if this is always the case). Thanks!

Hi Andrew - I mean bloggers in general; I've been visiting various blogs, some I found here, and elsewhere. I'd love to get some ideas of how others promote their work too! What do you do? Thanks and welcome! :)

I am a writer and lecturer. Have published a lot of science-related books the traditional way over the years with reasonable success and a lot of foreign translations, and am now exploring alternative digital ways too for fiction and poetry. Recently published a scifi comedy/serious novella with AndrewsUK publishers (no relation to me). I'm not sure anything beats recommendations and word of mouth (or word of email etc). I'll explore more about you when I get a moment. Very busy right now. My blog is on http://donquiscottieblog.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanks so much, Andrew - I will check it out!

I just want to say that I read this post yesterday and decided to email ten bloggers asking for a book review.
I got a reply today from Annette at Books and Tales saying she was back-logged on reviews, but that I could do an authors interview.
This is a first for me, so wanted to say thanks for the post.
I don't know much about review bloggers, but statistically, a 20% return (two out of ten) on an unsolicited query seems pretty good to me.
I wish lit agents were that responsive.
Best of luck

You're welcome, Kim - best of luck to you too :)

So, as a result of this thread, my first-ever interview and book spotlight went up today at Books and Tales! And my inbox had a note in it this morning from e-Thriller that I'm on the short-list for a review. I'm pretty happy about that. Thanks everybody!

Congrats, Kim - that's awesome!! :)

LOL, thanks for the encouragement, Darryl -- I've always liked Lucy from Peanuts ;)

Thanks, Kimberly! That was very helpful and I definitely will put those ideas to use :)
