I am currently on my way through the library, which seems to get smaller and smaller all the time. Any chance there are some really good books (fiction, classics, fantasy) that I am missing? Any suggestions?

If you like Sci Fi ( or are willing to try it out) anything by Sheri S Tepper is great. My favorites are Gate to Women's Country, Singer from the Sea and Beauty. She also has a number of trilogies out, but I haven't read those yet.

Have you read Mercedes Lackey Valdemar books? I really enjoyed most of them. My favorites are the Mage Storm series and Arrows of the Queen.
Are you looking for good new authors, try Ekaterina Sedia, Jonathan Carroll, Neil Gaiman, Jeff and Ann Vandermeer (they edit fantasy anthologies as a husband and wife team).
The best book that I read last year was the complete Tale of Genji, the first Japanese novel. It is a huge slab of a book and will probably take you three months to read. But it's an amazing book and will be a great three months. The new Edith Grossman translation of Don Quixote is also very good.
Haha, I rad Don Quixote! It's very funny, and a good story!
I hope the Tale of Genji won't take me three months to read- I read fast! Do you know if it is in public libraries, or if it has to be ordered because it's more rare?
I read the Edward Seidensticker translation. This is an older translation but I really enjoyed it. I would avoid the Arthur Waley translationas I have heard negative things about it. My public library has an unabridged Tale of Genji, so yours probably does as well.

If you area fast reader it will probably take you about a month.
thanks for suggestions
