Replying to comments

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help with my query.

I noticed one or two people on here saying that they find it a bit upsetting when leaving comments on blogs and not getting a reply.

Can you tell me how you go about replying?

I have a new blog http://marchhousebookscom.blogspot.com/ and have been ‘answering’ any comments by replying in the comment box but it just occurred to me that the person I’m replying to would have no way of knowing that I’ve replied – unless they return to the blog and read the comments. 

Do you go to their blog/website to find an email address and then reply or is there an easier way?

I don't know how it works on blogspot, but I know that Wordpress has a feature that lets you specifically view your own comments and any replies to them.

I've had the same thought...do people revisit the post to see if I commented on their comment?  I have! so I always act as if my blog commenters will too!  If the person is new to me, I visit their blog in hopes that I can leave some kind of meaningful comment there as well.

And BTW!  I just followed your blog and put it on my blog roll so that I can revisit often.  I think I'm really going to enjoy the experience!

This is how I do it, too -- just leave a reply and if they come back, they'll see. If they don't, at least others who stop by will see that I do respond.

I'm doing that too.  I was just hoping there was an easy way to reply by email or better still just click a button on the blog and the reply would 'magically' get to where it needed to go.  Maybe someone will come up with a way of doing it.

Found a work around  for this.

If you go to this link http://disqus.com and register, follow the instructions you can get a reply button for your blog posts - it is very simple and secure.

Great question, that never dawned on me.  I will definately do that.  I am new to blogging.  It is a little more complicated than I thought. It makes me feel...old.
