What do you think of book review requests left in the comment field in your blog page? There are some people who (doesn't email you despite an email address being clearly provided) leave comments in my blog pages. I don't know if I should contact them or just ignore.

Permalink Reply by parchmentgirl on May 4, 2011 at 10:58am Personally, I would never reply to a request left in the comments. It's bad form and shows me that the person who sent it is probably not going to be very professional to work with, even if all they're doing is sending me a book. I don't even approve comments like that to publish to the actual blog.

Unfortunately, I don't use a comment approval system for my blog, so I guess I'll just have to delete the comments.
It rubs me the wrong way when people post anything in a comment that isn't a direct response to what I have written. I would probably ignore and/or delete those comments.

Permalink Reply by Stephen Lawrence Brayton on May 6, 2011 at 8:40am If somebody requests a reply or leaves an email, I will do my best to get back to them. It may take me a few days, but I'll try my best. As for reviews, and if I may push my own blog, I am two posts into a three part about reviews and my entrance into the field.
Thanks.

I hate it.
I review books that I pick and hate people asking me to review theirs. Why? I hardly have any time to read, review, and interview the authors I do have. When someone asks, I cringe knowing I just can't do it.
I've noticed when I have left comments on blogs, sometimes it doesn't post until it gets the bloggers approval. If this is becoming a frequent problem for you, you might be able to find a with to filter your comments.
