And there I was thinking that I'm the only one in here with this stand! :)

Permalink Reply by Vanessa on May 27, 2011 at 11:21am I have no issues with reading or reviewing them. As long as there is a good storyline and it peaks my interest...absolutely! I have no issues with writing a public review (mind you, I haven't done so yet...but if the mood strikes me.....).
I agree that the M/M romances have exploded all over the place. Personally, I don't quite see why they would have such a huge following yet lesbian romances don't but I have noticed it. I have a friend who reads a lot of M/M novels and she just says that they intrigue her.

I'd gladly read and comment on books with GLBT themes, as long as the books are well-written and something that I'd find interesting. I'm not generally a fan of romance novels in general, so I'm not likely to read same-sex romance. However, one of my favorite random fantasy series' (the Kushiel's Legacy series) was very open in its sexual themes, both straight and gay. I just haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet, since I'm a relatively new blogger.
Then again, I'm very open-minded and am willing to read about almost anything, provided that the writing is good.
I SUPPORT READING~~PERIOD! I don't give a darn what the subject is about. If it will get someone from watching these stupid reality TV programs and open up their minds, regardless of the content, I support literature of all kinds! When a person doesn't support, you limit yourself to the possibilities and opportunities, and that's not what I want to see in this world. Be the change YOU want to see in the world, and with that wonderful quote, I say, whatever the genre, I can read it.
I refuse to place limits on myself.

*clapping* Well said and I second that emotion on the Reality TV!

In fact I just read two of the best M/M last week.
No Apologies by Tibby Armstrong was a profound story for me. Tore at my heart strings. Excellent read. Not so heavy on the romance but for sure amazing story.

My blog is romance reviews and that includes all romance. Inspirational to heavy erotic. I read and review it all. I just finished a F/F and it was meh. I did read a good F/F/M but I havent written a review for it yet.
My book, The Lost Carpet Bag, has a gay character and I created a chapter to this character and his "friend". The friend was a successful businessman who was no longer in love with his high school girlfriend that he married. I felt it was important to discuss the situations that people find themselves in. The gay character knew he was gay growing up whereas the married man, well was married. However, he found another man to love which is sometimes happens. Does that make him gay or just in love with another man? Could he also love another woman someday? These are interesting questions that a writer can placed on the reader. Makes for good discussion. So, that is what writing is all about. Subjects and characters that make people think about others and themselves in a different light. No subject should be baned or not written about. Let the reader explorer.

Permalink Reply by Tome Keeper on June 12, 2011 at 10:24am I will gladly review any LGBT books, fiction or non-fiction, as long as they are not purely erotica.
My review guidelines can be found here: http://tomesofthesoul.blogspot.com/2011/05/review-guidelines.html

Hi,
I just joined BookBlog. Yes, I openly review m/m romances on my website. Quite a bit actually, since m/m romance is my top genre at the moment. I do prefer glbt stories that are driven plot wise or have strong characterizations and have elements in sub genres such as crime thrillers, fantasy, historical, and contemporary.
My site is here if you want to check it out. http://twlibreviews.com
