RSS Feeds- Importance and How to Utilize?

Hey everyone!  I am still new to the blogging community and have learned some amazing things from visiting many of your sites!  WOW!  So, thank you for letting me be a stalker and silently learning from you.  I have followed many and have had some new followers in return! Looooove it!

    Now that I am getting my feet wet and other things are coming naturally, there is still one thing that perplexes me....the RSS feed.  I need some help understanding what this is exactly and how to go about offering it to my followers or new followers.  I have done some research, but keep coming up empty handing both for the widget for people to follow and to have it spelled out for me!

     Ay yi yi....please....any information will be greatly appreciated!

An RSS feed is a feed of all the posts of a blog. The reader can paste that feed to a Feedreader which compiles the feeds the user want to keep up with. The user is able to keep up with all of their blogs/other websites in one place.

I wrote a how to post for setting up Feedburner (the best way to do your RSS. It can keep track of your followers) if you're interested.
