Specialty genre bloggers: Let's tour each other's blogs to gain followers!

At my blog ScienceThrillers.com, I only review thrillers with scientific or medical themes.

Do you also have a niche or genre-specific book blog?

I had the idea that several of us could work together to promote our blogs to each other's readers.  I'd like to find four other specialized bloggers in different areas (especially other kinds of thrillers or mysteries, or fantasy or SF).  We could each do one guest post at each other's blogs, introducing what we do and inviting readers to visit.

I'm NOT interested in doing this collaboration with bloggers who review a wide variety of books.  The tighter your niche--and the better your website--the happier I'll be to work with you.

You can comment here or send me a message if you're interested.

Hi!  My bookish but nonreviewish blog falls into the variety catagory so not a candidate for your promotion plan.  Just wanted to say that as a reader of science thrillers, I am happy to find your blog.  And since it offers more than just book reviews, I'm even happier to find it.  I don't use a reader so manually added your blog to my dashboard. Have you ever considered adding a Google Friend Connect gadget to make it easier for Blogger users and/or non-reader users to follow your blog?

:o)

I have puzzled and puzzled over the best way to make it easy for readers to follow me.  (Perhaps a great topic for a whole forum here at BookBlogs).  This is the first I've heard of "Friend Connect" and I will learn about it.  I've noticed in general that Blogger--which I think is google-affiliated--has lots of neat features to make following/friending easy.  However I use WordPress because my blog is actually a full website, not just a blogging page and WordPress is good for that.

Right now my blog allows readers to get each new blog post by email (through Feedburner), in an RSS (also Feedburner, I think), to follow me on Twitter (where I tweet my new posts), and to subscribe to a quarterly newsletter I send by email.

Any suggestions on this question would be welcome.

Thanks Lesa for the tip, and for finding ScienceThrillers.com!

I see Google Friend Connect on some wordpress blogs-- even the ones with their own domain name-- so there must be some way to add it.  Friend Connect is the way Blogger users follow blogs-- it automatically adds blogs to the dashboard blogroll and google reader. It is convenient when Wordpress users offer it but not a deal breaker-- it was a deal breaker before I learned how to add blogs manually though.

I will follow you on Twitter soon-- that is a good format for updates.

You can get the code for a google freind with your google account. It's just a few lines of javascript code, you add it with the plain text widget.
Hi! I review about once a week and I usually urban fantasy books. Sometimes YA, fantasy, romance and sci-fi, but mostly urban fantasy.
