Yes, I have read the first one, and I enjoyed it. The only thing which is a turn off is its length..arnd 700 plus pages..phew!! That's why I didn't pick up the second one!
Komz@The Review Girl
:-) I take it you do not like lengthy books? I didn't notice the length because I was so wrapped in it. I am glad you enjoyed the book. So did I!
Thanks for your reply!
I have read this story..The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo review. I absolutly loved the first half of the book, it was intoxicating. But after the mystery was solved, I found the book to drag on. I did not find the book to be too dark, but then I love dark books.
If you would like to read my review and leave me a comment on your opinions, I would love that. I always encourage differences of opinions on my reviews. Have your written a review for the book, becuase I would love to read it.
I love hearing other perspectives on the books I read. I have this obsession with people loving the same books that I love. :-) I could not put these books down. It is something in the way that Larsson writes that mesmerized me. I have a handwritten book review of his books. I tend to write things first and then type them later. I have been working on a Master's Degree, but now that I have some free time I definitely plan to post. I will pop on over to your blog and read your review.
Thanks for your comment!
I read all three books and absolutely loved them. They are at times dark and violent but i had no problem with that. Violence is part of the story and without it we could never fully understand the characters. And for me, best part was trying to understand Lisbeth Salander. :)
I agree! Trying to understand Lisbeth is what kept me reading the series. I feel that Larsson created a superb character in Lissbeth. She is a female heroine in a dark and understated way.
I loved the books! I love things that are out of the ordinary. I often pick up books written by authors of different cultures, so that I can get a taste of their world. I think that is why I loved the books so much.
I liked the first one, but found the second and third too graphic (even for me). I wrote a fairly graphic first mystery novel, which has done quite well, but it took me a while to get "down and dirty." If you're interested, it's As The Twig Is Bent. If you have a Kindle, I just reduced it to $2.99, in case you'd like to download it. As The Twig Is Bent
Also, I'm always looking for "positive" reviews.
Fantastic! I am definitely interested in As The Twig Is Bent. I don't own a Kindle, I am a nookcolor girl. I think I am desensitized to violence. I love graphic novels. I love authors like Larsson and Lehane. They get right down to the nitty gritty. No sugar coating. I guess this is why I hate romance novels!
Is there a huge following of his work in Sweden?
