Submitting ISBNs to different ebook Format Types

I have recently read that if your submitting your ebook for publishing and you are using several different type formats such as EPUB, IMOB, PDF, HTML, Text, you are required to attach/submit a different ISBN to each different ebook format type!

Has anyone read or heard of this information?

This means that if I want to sell my ebook to customers using all different formats types and devices. I will have to buy a new ISBN for each different format Type.
