One comes to mind: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. My review of the book can be found here. I have a few others that I have reviewed on my blog, but this one stands out in my opinion.

Paper Towns by John Green (anything by John Green, I hear, but that's the first I've read).
Cricket Man, by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, by E. Lockheart
Ten Cents a Dance, by Christine Fletcher
A great teen book is Amazing Grace by Megan Shull. It's a very uplifting, funny, and quite romantic story about a famous young tennis pro who suddenly drops out of the game, moves in with an aunt in Alaska, and falls in love with a local boy. What I really loved was how Shull handled the romance in this book. It was very innocent but powerful and the narrative voice is really inviting.
The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld is a great teen sci-fi read. The C.H.E.R.U.B. books by Robert Muchamore are an exciting adventure/spy thriller series. Oh! Also, the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison is a quirky, fun romance/chick lit series.
I just read (and reviewed on my blog) This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. I really enjoyed it. It was very different from your average teen romance story. I couldn't put it down. :o)

I have several favorite series and authors for teens. First up is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. The first book is The Lightning Thief. Next is The Ranger's Apprentice Series by John Flanagan. The first in that series is The Ranger's Apprentice. I also enjoy the author Joan Bauer. My favorites from her are Thwonk; Hope was Here; Peeled; and Backwater. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins was incredible. I also loved The Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare. The first book is City of Bones. Also I will recommend The City of Ember by Jeanne Duprau, and the other Books of Ember.
