Hi Everyone! As some of you know I own a Kindle. I still LOVE books, and that is what I normally buy, but I can't resist a free book and there happens to be quite a few good deals out there for downloading onto my eReader.... Yesterday I posted on
Chick with Books about some offers by Amazon, but I know there are plenty of other sites out there, so I thought I would start a thread for us to share sites out there with great deals on eBooks. I'll start with one site I know about called Feedbooks that has free downloads available for not just the Kindle but other eReaders as well...

Can you load a pdf file into a Kindle?
All of my ebooks which are in pdf format are available for free at Donald James Parker website

Yes, you can! Actually I have one of your books on my Kindle! I think there is a "proper" way to format the books for Kindle so that you can actually put them on Amazon... you may want to look into that....

I have a kindle too and love it! I have been reading paperbooks lately and it is different, but I enjoy a book any way I can get it. I think the gutenberg project website has a lot of free books. I haven't gotten any off of there yet, but I read about it on the kindle blogs. I will definitely look into feedbooks. thanks for the info!

Hi Alison!
Definitely check out the Feedbooks! The gutenberg project is wonderful, but sometimes they don't come out Kindle friendly ( the paragraphs are skewed), but Feedbooks offers the same selection 'corrected'. I actually had a copy of Virginia Woolfs, To The Lighthouse in my hand at Borders the other day (along with too many other books) and decided I would buy it another time... Feedbooks had it!

The Baen Free Library is one of my most favorite places on the web. You can download for FREE over 100 scifi and fantasy books. Their concept is very successful because the free downloads have hooked me on authors with whom I was not familiar. I keep 75 books on my pda for travel and time stuck in traffic or maybe just because I can. Technology and books does it get any better. BTW I too still would never want to get away from holding bound paper in my hand.

Do you read Terry Brooks? I did a review on Magic Kingdom for Sale - Sold. I hadn't read his work before and I really enjoyed it. You can read my review at www.thatsanovelidea.blogspot.com

Hi Alison!
I downloaded Magic Kingdom for Sale by Terry! I bought the actual paperbook at a used book sale ages ago and it's been in the TBR pile! Maybe now that I downloaded it in the Kindle I'll start reading it. It's the first book in a long series.... I will hop on over and read your review! Thanks!

Hi William!
Thanks so much for sharing The Baen Free Library! Nice selection of books and plenty to try out! That's the great thing about downloading a free book, you may find an author that you like and will become a 'regular' custormer. You have a lot more books on your Kindle than I do, but my hubby is catching up to you! :D

I really don't like reading books on the computer -- maybe if I had a big cushy lounger in front of the computer I would! :D Your cat has the right idea!

One way to get an unlimited supply of free books in pdf format is to join WRDF'S Reviewing Staff. You can check out our review blog at http://blog.lyndacoker.net. If anyone is interested in reviewing for WRDF'S Blog, Between the Lines, contact me at wrdfreview@live.com
