Friends! We've enabled the "chat" option here on the main page. You have to scroll down past this main discussion forum to see it. Or, you can see it as a top across the top of your page. We're excited about having this new way to interact with each other. Of course, the new rules still apply - PLEASE be courteous and respectful. We would appreciate it if creepy and/or rude participants are brought to the admins attention - they will swiftly be banned.
If you are more comfortable chatting in "private," where your conversation isn't viewable to the entire community, just click on the member's picture and a "private chat" option will drop down. If you do NOT want to have people chat with you, you can click on the little button with a bobble-head and green circle, on the top right corner of the box, that will say "go offline" when you scroll over it. Click it, and no chat for you :)
Okay, I have a question for all the people who like the chat scene.
Do you think it is okay for people to post their links, links advertising what is happening at their blog, asking for ppl to head over...and such or should links not be allowed. First I thought they should't be allowed...but now I am not so sure!
What does everyone think? Is it spam to have ppl post links to their blog?? I think I have almost become spam paranoid lately!!!!
hah! i just posted that in the chat lol. i actually would rather NOT see posting about blogs in the chat. i mean they're everywhere else on the ning and it will clutter the chat PLUS i can see that totally getting spammed
yeah, that is what I was thinking. If links are allowed in the chat it is much more likely to be spammed. I hate policing that though....but I guess if the rules are not being followed we'll just take down the option- or remove the people who can't follow the rules.
I'd love to hear more opinions on this!!! Do you think links are annoying in the chat????
i am really amazed at all the people that can't seem to read. i feel like i'm constantly posting the rule about no links in the chat room at least twice a week
