Hi all!
I'm a new member. Thank your for the warm welcome! I know that this forum is dedicated primarily to blogs, but I'm curious if any of you use Facebook to connect viewers to your blogs. How is that working? We have a Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/BonnieLeeBooks (please "like" us!). We're trying to figure out how to best use it and how to then turn our Facebook fans into blog followers.
Any suggestions? Tips? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks-
Sara

I made a Facebook page for my blog, but honestly, I don't know how to make it useful yet. Right now it's mostly just a way that people that I know in real life can choose whether or not they want to follow my blog updates. I'd be curious to learn more about how to use Facebook pages in a productive way...

Thanks for the responses. Using Google Analytics, we found that most of our website traffic is coming from Facebook. However, no one comments on our page...ever. I am trying to figure out what our fans want and what content would spark conversation but it's been hard.
It's good to know I'm not alone in figuring this out! :)

Permalink Reply by Phill Pappas on October 14, 2011 at 2:07pm From my experience the Facebook page for my blog helps, because even if I have only a small number of people that "like" my page, every time you post a link to the blog on the FB page it shows up on their news feed and becomes available for all of their friends to see. The most important thing that I have learned, from a past semi-successful blog of mine, is that generating a continuous amount of content means that you show up more and more on Facebook. This simply increases the number of opportunities that friends, and strangers alike, have to become aware of/stay updated with your blog.
Best,
Phill.

Hello Sara. I have a facebook fan page site about my epic fantasy series "Guardian of the Seventh Realm." On it I post news about my books, reviews, upcoming books, etc. Every other week I'm gaining followers. It's going slow, but it's still going. :)
Thank you all for your responses. I think I'm going to start a contest next week that if you "like" our page and share one of our stories on your wall, you could have the chance to win a free signed book. We'll probably run this promotion for 1 month so I'll let you know how it goes at the end.
The end goal isn't to necessarily gain more "Likes" just more interaction on our page.
Permalink Reply by Kimba the Caffeinated on October 15, 2011 at 2:08pm I have linked my blog to my Facebook page, so that my reviews stream to it using RSS. I have found that some prefer to follow my reviews from Facebook.

Permalink Reply by ManOfLaBook.com on October 15, 2011 at 11:04pm From talking to authors, publishers and promotion folks Facebook pages are great to keep in touch with people who already read you books but not so good about getting new readers.
I wrote a post about it if you're interested: http://manoflabook.com/wp/?p=3244
We're starting a promotion tomorrow: "LIKE" our page & share one of our links OR "LIKE" our page & mention us in a post to be entered for an autographed copy of a Bonnie Lee Book. Please "LIKE" us and spread the word. Attached is our flier- email it or post it.
I'll let you all know how the promotion goes. Thanks for all your support.
