What are you doing to Celebrate Banned Books Week?!

Hi Everyone!
This week is Banned Books Week! The American Library Association along with numerous other organizations promotes this week as a time to Celebrate your Freedom to Read! Anyone doing anything special on their blog? I'm involved in a Banned Books Challenge and will be highlighting banned and challenged books this week at Chick with Books. If you're doing anything special, I'd love to add the link over at my blog, just let me know! And please stop by to say hello and share how you feel about books that are challenged and banned!

I've read and reviewed The Giver by Lois Lowry and now I'm reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, both are banned books. I've also written a post about Walt Whitman's poem "Leaves of Grass" which is also often banned. I've also written a couple of random BBW posts over at Notes from the North

Kudos to y'all for the posting, reading, and reviewing. My hat's off to you.

Hi Drey!
Hey, don't feel bad! So many things going on in the publishing world it's hard to keep track of everything... I really should have posted about BBW sooner than I did! Next year I will.

I'm not doing anything special on my blog, but I did visit a couple of local schools to talk about banned books.

Visiting local schools and talking about banned books sounds like you did a great amount for opening students' eyes to censorship, and the freedom to read. Your fine efforts are to be commended. Perhaps those students will not grow up to be book banners and burners, but will understand the importance of freedom to write and read for all.
