I posted my own reading goals for 2009 on my page and I was wondering if anyone else had reading goals for the new year. Please share what books you want to read this year. You may help me to expand my goal or someone else goals list!
Dorothy Dunnett writes good Scottish historical fiction. Try her stand alone The King Hereafter about Macbeth to try out her style. She also wrote serveral multi book series.

My reading goals for 2009 is to branch out into different genres (or do more than dip my toes in), track the books I read, and start reviewing the books I read. I came across a meme for the best book of 2008, and I'm kinda embarrassed to say I only could name one. The other "bests," I couldn't remember if I read in '08 or prior... =(
I have never really thought about specific goals, but now that I think of it,
1) To read several technical books on blogs and computers especially writing for the internet, microsoft publisher, and online design.
2) To read several books on practical aspects of business, time management, organization, delegation.
3) To write several reviews of fantasy and science fiction novels. I would hope that I can get a few of my reviews linked to by author websites.
4) To get invited to several different conferences that have to do with blogging, publishing, and reading for free.
After reading all the replies i feel like all i do is read - which is all i do - sad life. I did 378 books last year (as a book reviewer) so i have just joined the read Your Own Book Challenge this year to sort out my pile of books all over the house.
With the introduction of ebooks and the blessed ereader - i am in literary heaven - on the go.
I have given myself a target of 450 - wish me luck. I've done 37 books already - so not bad for the first month.
