What do you do with the books you have already read?

Do you keep them? Do you sell them? Do you give them away? Do you do something else with them?

I tend to keep them which results in my closet getting more and more packed with books lol. I guess I'm a bit of a pack rat.

I'm a book hoarder. I have hundreds and hundreds and not nearly enough book shelves. Lately, I have been giving some away on my blog, but I always hate to part with them...

donate to library, give to friends, sell at yard sale

I keep them all. I'm actually a little concerned about the weight of all those books causing the floor to buckle.

I try to give 'em away, but only the ones I've read, lol... Some have made their way into friends' hands...

For the most part I release them via http://www.bookcrossing.com

I keep the ones that I think I may read again, others I give to libraries, pass on to friends, or exchange. I also sometimes sell books to used book stores.

I keep 98% of all the books I buy. One of these day's I'm gonna run out of room for all my books....

I mostly read ebooks, so I don't do anything with them. Usully if I buy a paperback or hardback it is a keeper though, if its not I give it away on my blog or give it to the library.

I keep them. I want to be able to read them again, or pass them on to my kids and grandkids. If they don't want them, they can give them to a library, sell them, or give them to anyone who wants them.

I'm a member of a great book trading site and you can get new ones by swapping them and I love it!

Book trading sounds great. When I was a school librarian at a high school, I tried a summer exchange program. I asked all the teachers to bring in the books they'd read and were willing to swap. It worked really well. I'm also a frugal reader. I also buy books at our local library booksale. When we moved not too long ago, I donated many hundreds of books in excellent condition to our library. It broke my heart but we were downsizing from a house to an apartment. There just wasn't any room for them. Hope they got good homes!

All the best,
