What is the worst book you've ever read? Oddly enough, a lot of people respond with books that are on Random House Top 100 List! Let me know......

I just read a book that comes close to the WORST BOOK I've ever read. It's called Monsieur Frog by Nikki Barrowclough. Another WORST book ever is Eat, Love, Pray by Elizabeth Gilbert. I hated it. Just hated it.
I know a lot of people will disagree with me but i hated reading The time traveler"s wife..
I thought I had replied to this already. Hmmm...

I would have to say Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson. I really struggled through it because my best friend was sure that I would love it. I hated every word of that novel.
Oh I had forgotten that. Me too. Eileen
A lot of people list it as their favorite, and it's one of the 10001 books to read before you die. I was quite saddened to see that. I wrote more about why I didn't like it in my review, but I couldn't quite be thorough because my best friend had recommended it and I didn't want her to feel put down.
I dunno... I just couldn't get into White Teeth by Zadie Smith.
Night School. It was so badly written, it was painful, and there was not one sympathetic character. The premise held promise, but it was so poorly executed. It was a struggle to finish.
Isn't there a movie w/ Henry Winkler by that name...??? ha
Hands down it was The Healing Powers of Chocolate. Click on the link for my review. The author disputed my review on Amazon.com. I responded by directing her to the reviews of her book on LibraryThing which said more or less the same things that I did.
I've read a lot of Bad books - The two that come to mind immediately are "The Ginger Man" and "The Reader". Bah!

I saw the twist in the The Reader about 20 pages in to the book. Thought it was sorta lame.

As for the Ginger Man - I reviewed it here (well the part I read anyway) http://100leaves.blogspot.com/2010/06/ginger-man.html (and in the following posts decided whether to keep on reading it)

So there's a question - if you're not enjoying a book - do you keep reading or quit?

A.
