Writers Block. What in the world is it, and how long does it last?
I've never had writer's block, and I don't necessarily write everyday- at least not novel writing.
What's the cure or remedy for this phenomena?
Everyone defines writer's block differently. For some it is the inability to write at all. Usually, though, I think writers consider a block anytime in whcih their writing is stifled. Maybe everything they write sounds cliche or boring. Maybe they are stuck on a particular plot point or character motivation. Some people don't believe in writer's block, but that's another post!
I blog a lot about writing advice and how to avoid things like this kind of block. Personally, when I feel stuck, the only thing that really works for me (besides taking a break) is to read something I love. When I surround myself with beautiful language, it gives my own writing a kick start. What do you think?
thanks so much, I agree with that. I have never had writer's block. Sometimes I wish I could turn off the ideas. I guess that's the opposite. said. I hear writer's lock so much so much.
I also hear people say they write everyday. I didn't until I started blogging. I take notes when inspired but don't sit at the typewriter staring at a blank page.
I think your right it's an individual experience with many meanings and connotations.
