How do you get going on this site? Is it possible to get going without over promoting yourself and does your words and works really reach your potential people interested?

For me, blogging is all about networking. Facebook, Twitter, here, getting in touch with other blogs that cover similar books and styles to what you like... But it's very important because if you want others to listen to you, you have to start out by listening to others. You follow them, more than likely they'll check you out and follow you.

I do more than simply reviews on my blog but I know that I've reached many people and what I've written about has made a difference in someone's life. In fact, it has so much that I now have a group at work that covers similar material because I do write about what people want to hear.
