When you were a kid, what was the one book you remember reading or it being read to you?

I remember the golden books when I was a kid. I remember one fish, two fish. But, the one book I remember being read to me at night was, Cinderella. I always wanted to beleive in happy endings.

Where the Wild Things Are is the one book I remember the most.

For me it was The Rose in My Garden by Arnold Lobel. It was and is still one of my favorite children's books.

Great question!

I assume you mean a very young kid?

I remember the Dr. Seuss books more than any other, possibly because the rhymes make them so memorable. I also remembered, "The Monster at the End of This Book" and "The Little Engine that Could." Actually, I remember quite a few, and I read many of them ot my kids now. :)

My favorite as a little tyke was The Pokey Little Puppy

Goodnight Moon :) Its still one of my favorites!

Can you find the mouse in each picture?

The first book I can remember being read to me was Charlotte's Web. I think I was 3. I still love that book, and I still have the one my mother read to me.
For me it was Into the Dream by William Sleator.  For some reason that book has always stuck with me.
Trixie Belden  She was a teenage super sleuth. I don't think I missed a single mystery.
Ah my parents never read to me when I was younger because they can't read English, heh, so they'll tell me oral stories instead ... But there's two books I can vividly remember reading when I was a little older because I had fallen in love with the story completely: Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine and I am Morgan le Fay by Nancy Springer.
The Master Mind of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The first tale of the fantastic I ever read. Stumbled on it in a bookshelf in my grandparents' house.

My dad used to read to me every night when i was a kid. The book i enjoyed most was In Desert and Wilderness. I loved it then and i love it now. :)

When I was a really little kid I remember "The monster at the end of this book," "The Pokey Little Puppy," and "The Foot Book," just to name a few. I loved the Golden books and dr. seuss! As a little bit of an older kid I remember The Giver, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Outsiders, just to name a few. Man, I miss those books! I need a kid to read them to...
