Who can recommend a good editor who does annotations and line editing, i would be grateful for it, thanks.

Hello people, so i am working on  a book, which is almost done and i can''t quite get my hands on a good editor to cut down the fat. It is a Ya fantasy, please any help would be apprec1ated..

First of all J, please be aware that what you're looking for will be expensive. 

 

Second, you might not like what they have to say.  So before pursuing this any further you need to ask yourself if the title is the best that you can make it?  Could you polish it any more?  Have you gone through multiple edits?

 

What I'd recommend over an editor is to find a critique group who can offer you feedback on your work, break it down into managable chunks and then as the comments come in make a note of them so that you can then implement some suggestions if you feel they're appropriate or answer any queries that may arise.

I don't know if he does YA fantasy or not, but David St. Albans (LinkedIn has his profile) edited my latest to-be-released book, and he did a dandy job on it. He is a very creative person, and he offers suggestions in a kind way without really expecting the author to use ALL of them! Good luck.
