Whose Blog Deserves a Follow? Why become a follower?

Why Become a Follower?

There are three reasons that readily come to mind. First, the content is outstanding and you sincerely enjoying the blogger's style, voice, and opinions. Second, it's a great way to network. Third, it's a positive way to support another blogger.

Share three of your favorites with us and we'll check them out. One of the three may be your own.

My top 3 book bloggers have to be:

1. Greg over at New Dork Reviews
2. Ann and Michael at Books on the Nightstand
3. Steph the Bookworm

But, of course I also enjoy reading my own blog (I always seem to agree with the writing...) over at The Book Chubi. :)

P.S. Everyone should check out Lynda's challenge (Take the Journey 2010) too. It is the most brilliant book challenge I've seen around that expands your reading instead of limiting what counts.
Thanks for the blog recommendations and also for the plug for my Reading Challenge. I'm going to visit the blogs you listed.
Hi Lynda,

I agree with all you said might make a person follower a blog. For me, it's the blogger's personality and the mood of the blog that keeps me interesting. I love upbeat, funny and laidback people. I don't like boring blogs that are too serious. I also don't like review blogs where the reviewer seems to be stiff as a board, LOL. Here are my favorites.

1. http://www.dearauthor.com

Dear Author

2. http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com

Smart Bitches and Trashy Books

3. http://blog.nathanbransford.com

Literary Agent Nathan Bransford

There are many more I enjoy but these are ones I visit regularly. Especially Dear Author and Smart Bitches.

Best Wishes!

Going to check all these blog out. Thanks for sharing. This is like treasure hunting.
Sorry for all those typos, LOL! I guess I didn't notice them yesterday, LOL!
RYCJ, I can't tell you how sweet you are to say those nice things about my writing. You make me want to write twice as hard to get the next book out. And thanks for dropping this recommendation for A Book Inside. I'll head over there and check it out.
I follow so I remember to look at the blogs I like. For a long time I bookmarked blogs but forgot about them. Now with my list on bloger I can check daily for updates.
I follow to let another blogger know I find their blog special
And yes, I follow hoping others will follow me.

I'm following. Thanks for posting. By the way. The link above did not work for me. I had to find it on you page. Best of success with your blog.
Oh so sorry. I am sure it is operator error on my part. I have just started to post my blog link and may not know what I am doing LOL
Publishing 2020 http://jwikert.typepad.com/the_average_joe/ , Pick of the Literature http://bookrevues.blogspot.com/ Pick of the Literate comes across with a really positive view on life, The Thin Red Line http://libdrone.info/ Nice reviews includes cookbooks and architecture.
I've actually been thinking about this question a lot lately as I've been working on getting more followers for my blog. Many book blogs seem to get followers by running contests in which you have to become a follower to enter. I decided to try this approach, and while it does seem to work, I now wonder if any of my followers are actually interested in the content I offer or if they are just following me in hopes of winning the contest.

I follow various different book blogs whose book reviews I enjoy reading and whose taste in books are similar to my own. I also tend to follow blogs whose blog owners respond to comments that I leave and even comment on my blog. One such blog is My World which is run by Melissa who always responds to comments and leaves thoughtful comments on everyone else's blogs.

Books on the Nightstand is another blog that I follow regularly, as well as listen to their podcast.
