How many members are also authors themselves? Someone posted a suggestion on a LinkedIn group (Just for Writers) about swapping interviews. She was non-fiction, specific topics, so it wasn't a good match for me, but I thought it was a great idea. Is there any interest here for something like this? Ideas for how to organize it? We could start a separate discussion per genre or area of interest to help people find each other perhaps. I'm a SF author and only interview SF and fantasy authors for example. Although, I'm making an exception next March for Gayle Lynds because it's my blog and I can break my rules when I see fit. ;)

I'm not a writer (my mom is though) but if anyone wants an interview, I'd be happy to do one! ;)

I am an author recently awarded my debut series (a 3-book deal by St. Martin's Press) for YA paranormal. I am hosting an ongoing blog event "Dog Days of Summer BlogTour" June 18- late August for a mix of paranormal, sci-fi and fantasy authors (including Eva Gordon, Brigit Aine, Dara England, Diana Castilleja, Elaine Corvidae, etc.) as well as a fabulously inspirational writing coach (Mark David Gerson) and a practicing High Priestess and accomplished Llewelyn author Deborah Blake (who will be teaching a class about magic in fiction writing in October).

I decided to send authors who responded (99.9% of the ones I asked) a basic questionnaire with options to freely expand on any particular topic. I think it needs to be low-impact--as authors we're even busier than normal! I also asked for things like photos of their favorite bookshelves, their writing space, book covers and bio pictures. Interviews go up Thursday, some will take over and blog for me on Friday and there will be one more blog related to them on Saturday. I'll be mirroring the blogs on my other related sites and archiving them for later, too (with the hope that next year when my first book officially hits shelves there will be renewed interest for them as well).

If you'd like to invite any of them to help or participate in a tour, please stop by and comment (and certainly check them out). So far I've found each one to be very pleasant and cooperative (even a bit excited!). I think the event will be wonderful. :-)

I'd love to participate in some tours myself, so please keep me in mind (and feel free to contact me--maybe we can get something put together). I'm tentatively planning another BlogTour at my site in October (more compressed timeline and possibly spookier). That'll be the Howl-oween BlogTour. Let me know if you'd be interested in participating. :-)

Take care and good luck!

"Dog Days of Summer BlogTour"
Hey there... as a paranormal romance author... (and I am already doing Saoirse's blog in July)... I would love the Howl-oween Blog. I am working on a Summer Blast myself so if anyone wants to be a part of that I would love it... just drop me a quick e-mail... brigitaine@gmail.com and I will add you to the list... looking to run enough for July and August.
I had an interview with Jess C. Scott about her debut, self-published blog novel, EyeLeash, here: http://readingwatchingliving.blogspot.com
