I am giving away three audiobooks of True Compass by Edward M. Kennedy. It is a riveting look at a fascinating man's life as well as a great look at our nation's modern history.

Hi all,

I just joined this group because I do love history and find myself frequently reading historical fiction and biographies. I just finished reading Franklin & Winston: An Intimate Portrait of an Epic Friendship and wrote about it here:

I have a few WW2 books coming up this week on my site and I'm looking forward to sharing history-related books with anyone interested.

Exactly! It's an unforgettable book. So in The Narrative of a Slave Girl. What a sad life for a woman with a child.

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is a classic--it's really well-written AND it gives the reader a really good sense of the experience of a slave, from someone who experienced it personally.

I read about a book with the lives of Abe Lincoln and Frederick Douglass in the Hachette newsletter. Is this going to be a giveaway?

I've been working on reading more American Historical fiction this year and have found a number of good reads. :) One of my favorite finds this year was an oldie but goodie--The Winthrop Woman by Anya Seton.
