Book Review - The Jack is Souls: A Rogue & Knight Epic Fantasy Series (The Unseen Moon Book 1) by Stephen C Merlino

"The Jack of Souls is not the type of genre I normally read because I tend to have problems following the fantasy world and it's creatures but I have to say that this author has won me over with his novel.

The story line is full of magical spells and beliefs. Trying to find out a way of breaking the curse his mother had put upon him at birth and when Sir Willard arrives, a knight of fame, Harric's life is suddenly changed.

The language used and descriptive writing is very good. The scenes and character traits are first rate along with the drive and determination to survive keeps the reader enrapt. Every chapter brings the story together encompassing a different character who is essential for the groups survival. The whole group each have a different agenda and goal. As we go through the journey with the group the author explains each individual journey and why their paths have crossed and more importantly why there need each other

A page turning novel with twists and turns."

Review Update!

The Dead Days Journal

The Dead Days Journal : Volume 1The Dead Days Journal : Volume 1
By: Sandra R. Campbell
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

( I received this book free from the author in exchange for my honest review )

3.5 Stars

I'm on the fence about this one. There are a lot of aspects I liked and a lot I didn't. Though it was an interesting read, I'm not sure if I actually liked this book or dislike it. It's hard to put down in words. I believe it's because I went into this book with a different image, (one I gather from the book cover and synopsis), thinking one thing and getting another. In any case it was misleading. (I seem to be getting a lot of those lately)Despite all that, this read did keep my interest.

Our Beck Valley Books Review of Eighty and Out by Kim Cano
"As with all of Kim Cano's books that I have read, you become mesmerized by the story, the characters come to life somehow making a special bond with the reader, you instantly feel connected to them. This is a beautiful, gentle story of coming of age, love, loss, despair and happiness,

The story follows two sisters, Lou and Jeannie, along with Lou's best friend Bernice. They found themselves growing up in the racial hate timeline which was harsh and choosing whether to follow the pressure groups or your own heart and beliefs is a choice that they must make. Another choice the sisters made together was never to allow themselves to live past 80, to end up as their poor Aunt Violet has, living in a nursing home with her full life withering away to frailty.

As they grow through school, college and beyond their friendships grow, relationships start with the innocence of first love and dreams of their futures are created. But do they allow their hearts to win over their minds and follow their dreams ? Do they stick to their childhood sisterly pact?

There is always a lovely tone when reading this author's work, the light humor to this one made me smile from the things the parents said to the kids themselves and the way their minds work. Although I felt the emotional highs, I also felt the tremendous lows and the story line definitely pulled at my heartstrings with some of the sadness. I have to admit though at one part of the book I did shout out with anger, but I'm not telling you why!

I loved the close bonds of friendship and the sisterly love within the story. I also loved that the story highlighted that life is precious and love is what keeps life moving on even in those hard times."

For Love or Money by Kathy DiSanto is reviewed by Miki's Hope....

"If this book doesn't have you laughing out loud I don't know what will!
Jen Casey who is now a high school English teacher in the same school she went to-she loves poetry and literature-she was even the president of the poetry club in high school. She really is a small town girl who is waiting for Mr. Right before she gets involved. Her friend--the phys ed teacher is just about her opposite. She should have kept her mouth shut when she saw that a boy she went to high school with but whose family had come into money was really living it up. Now here is this woman--knows little to nothing about men but thinks she can tell him a thing or two? Her friend gets her to email Celebrity news--on a dare. You see Jen has one little bitsy flaw--she can not resist a dare!! Instead of forwarding the email--Celebrity publishes it!!! That's when the fun begins.

I can't tell you anymore or I will give it up-and we all know I won't do that!! To find out what happens you will just have to pick up this book and read it. And for those of you wondering--yes, I think it would be fine for teens to read this one-after you have read it of course. By the way have some tissues ready at the end--you will need them!"

My Writing Progress.

I have finally buckled down and have started properly writing the novel I have been pasting together for over a year now. Pasting as in, writing down ideas here and there, research, timelines, and random character dialogue, sometimes I just get a good convo going,in my head, and I have to get it down before I forget it.

As for the book titile, I haven’t gotten the final name yet. My be I'll do a poll and get you guys to decide, or I'll just stress over it, until I drive myself nuts and close my eyes and, pick.

Last night I was playing in photoshop for book cover ideas, and I ended up staying up a bit too late. Time flies when you’re trying to figure out what font to use.

It's time I make my dream a reality. I will be posting a progress tracker in the side bar on my blog.

Wish me luck!
