About Shrink on the Loose:

Ride shotgun with Dr. Z and enter a psychologist’s world far beyond the stereotypical. You’ll discover culturally diverse and often precarious treatment sessions and evaluations in home kitchens, a Navajo hogan, an Army dining hall, and psych hospitals deep in the tropics. There’s even the risky examination of a homicidal redneck in a cowboy bar, during Happy Hour.

This itinerant shrink doesn’t travel with a therapy couch—but you will attend therapy in India, Hong Kong, Germany, dusty New Mexico villages, a hospital obstetrics ward, and on American Indian reservations. Come along to meet an Apache girl with the Evil Eye, a raging and hallucinating jungle dweller, a Native American healer in a trance, and a Chinese cook whose wife worries that his shriveling penis will kill him.

Learn from these extraordinary adventures of helping real people in places you’d never expect. Join Dr. Z, on the road, for psychotherapy and a bundle of psychiatric “irregularities.”

About Author G. L. Zieman:

After earning his Ph.D. from Colorado State University and training in residence at Children’s Medical Center (Tulsa, Ok), Dr. Z began his clinical psychology career as a circuit-rider traveling the deserts and mountains of New Mexico. After retreating from practice in villages and on Indian reservations, he branched out into professional walkabouts to Southeast Asia and the islands of the South Pacific. Finally turning to what his wife called “more civilized” work, he went to Germany as counselor for soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently Dr. Z practices, from straight back chairs and a table—still refusing a therapy couch, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I've got two giveaways going on until Friday the 25th. After that, the second is open until the 29th!

What Kills Me

Summary: An ancient prophecy warns of a girl destined to cause the extinction of the vampire race. So when 17-year-old Axelia falls into a sacred well filled with blood and emerges a vampire, the immortal empire believes she is this legendary destroyer. Hunted by soldiers and mercenaries, Axelia and her reluctant ally, the vampire bladesmith Lucas, must battle to survive. How will she convince the empire that she is just an innocent teenager-turned bloodsucker and not a creature of destruction? And if she cannot, can a vampire who is afraid of bugs summon the courage to fight a nation of immortals?

This giveaway is for an e-copy of What Kills Me. There will be 10 winners, and the winners will be announced this Saturday, August 26th.

Quarter Life Crisis

Summary:

Friends may be forever, but time will always change friendships. There comes a point in everyone's life, usually during their mid-twenties, when they tend to hit a wall. Where are we going with our future? Why can't we stay as close to our friends as we once were? They feel as though they've hit a rut. A group of friends will soon realize that everyone goes through their own Quarter Life Crisis.

This giveaway is for an e-copy of Quater Life Crisis. There will be 5 winners as it stands currently, but I'm doubling that if I can get 75 followers to my blog on either NetworkedBlogs or Link Followers. This giveaway is going on until next Wednesday, August 29th and the winners will be announced August 30th.

Tuulois MacColewyn’s simple life performing dirty jobs for fey hiding in New York City has died a quick death. Consulting for the NYPD on a case involving child abductions, losing a friend, laying siege to a stronghold at the end of Broadway, and being chased through a hospital by animated scarecrows combined to make last month hell. This month is shaping up to be much worse.

Yet, it’s not all bad. Cole has a new place to live, a steady-paying job working for the NYPD, and the heart of Inspector Joss Vallimun, head of Section Thirteen and, incidentally, Cole’s new boss.

Section Thirteen is understaffed and overworked, trying to solve every supernatural crime in New York, including a series of grisly child murders and evidence that local fey are being enslaved. When Vallimun is gravely injured just as the investigation reaches a fever pitch while a snowstorm blankets the city, Cole will need all the help he can get to have any hope of salvaging this month at all.

BOOK 2 PREMIERS IN...38 DAYS...

The realest romance you will read this fall!

"This rare and honest first-person account looks at 21st century romance, marriage with children, and divorce from a regular guy’s perspective. The colorful and addictive narrative delves deep into spousal abuse, the hopeless place in which a father finds himself during divorce, new beginnings, and his ordeal’s significance in retrospect. John Emil Augustine’s insight throughout, the result of his own tragedy and redemption, is nothing short of eloquence itself written in a very down-to-earth, casual way. This heart-jerking, wisdom-flecked story is a must read for lovers of fiction and non-fiction alike. John Emil Augustine has been a landscaper, musician, English professor, welder, forklift operator, and is the father of four boys. John writes and performs in his spare time. 'Love Seen from Hell' is his first novel."

About The Girl in the Portrait:

Peggy Maynard goes down to the basement one morning to find her husband working on the painting of a young woman. He covers the painting as if to conceal it from her. Then, one day, both Will and the painting disappear from her home and from her life. This initiates a long journey of self-searching, while Peggy wonders why she didn’t see warning signs in her marriage, why she didn’t leave him before.

One day, Detective Byers, who’s on the case, tracks down a doctor who attended a former student of Will’s – Irma Vasquez. Eighteen years prior, she had a baby, and it appears the father is Will.

Peggy’s search for her missing husband leads her to Queretaro, Mexico, where a startling discovery forces her to decide what her relationship with Will was truly made of, or if they ever really had one.

About Battles and Backache:

Sally is having a bad day. Her car has developed an ominous rattle, her husband Dave is in one of his “I told you so moods,” and Sally is suffering from an excruciating bout of sciatica. To make matters worse, the annual Father’s Day barbecue is looming and Sally knows that Dave’s promise of “don’t worry dear, I will do all the work,” will involve him donning his “I’m the King of the Barbecue” apron and standing in front of the outside appliance for an hour or two; performing a few tricks with some cooking tongs, looking for all the world as if he was a finalist on Master Chef.

After days of agony and very little sympathy, Sally finds help from an unexpected ally, and discovers that the challenges that come our way are often gentle nudges to move us forward into the next phase of life.

About Author Lilian Simmonds:
