Authors who need help deciding...

As a new author, I have found it very challenging to decide on a few things-

1- a title for my book

2- a title for my series

3- character names

4- cover art

5- a good descriptive paragraph encompassing the whole book

Lets share our ideas and support each other. OH, and we can follow each other's blogs too!

Thanks Jessica,

I like "Dawn", it could have a punch if spoken correctly.

A friend of mine suggested "Pangea". This is the name of the landmass on Earth 270 million years ago when all the continents were one landmass. Since there are no oceans on this planet then it will be one landmass.

I like that name too.

Hmmm...let me mull on this one a little... off the top of my head-

Oxy

Dawn (never experiences nightfall)

This sounds like just the group I need. I will soon be starting my fifth novel and I need a catchy name for it. Something like Terabithia. The name needs to be original and have sort of a punch to it.

The novel genre will be "science fiction", set in the year 2040. I need a name for a recently discovered planet. This planet is 50 times bigger than Earth and has four suns. Each sun and the planet itself spin on an axis but stay stationary and do not orbit. This planet never experiences nightfall. It is 99% landmass and has no oceans, a few large lakes, all fresh water. 90% of the landmass is tree covered giving it its nick-named "The Green Planet."

Satellites have discovered human like life as well as many other animal forms.

But what Earth is interested in is the massive deposits of high grade minerals. Large deposits of lithium, mile long stretches of 400 foot thick "jewelry grade" platinum, gold and other jewels but the most valued of all mithril.

Again, I need a name for this planet. This name will also be the name of the novel.

All ideas will be considered. Thanks.

Thanks so much Samantha. My publisher just has a few more kinks to work out and then it will be already for reviewing and coming your way!

Wow! Without having read it, I don't know, because I can't see what they have to do with the story... can you share the plot of the first book?

This is a great idea! Oftentimes, I have problems deciding on various aspects of my books. One of the most problematic issues for me has been editing. It's such an important issue. I read the first pages of a new book a blogger posted about and didn't get past the first two paragraphs because of the errors. I wish everyone would take more time to make their books the best they can be.

Fortunately, I found a college person to edit my books for reasonable rates. I can't afford $900 fees! If anyone is interested, she just messaged me her new blog, http://emmaleighechoediting.blogspot.com/

I hope she still has time to edit for me! LOL

Jessica, I clicked on your link above, but got an error message. I'll try again. I was looking forward to seeing your cover and reading the first chapters.
