Our Beck Valley Books Review for Revised Orders by Irene Helenowski - Book 2 of Order of the Dimensions

"I couldn't wait to start this book especially since I was so engrossed with the first book in the series.

The power struggle continues as Anton Zelov continues to crave revenge, power and world domination. Behind it all is the most powerful black box to be invented, called the multiverser, which when used can be used to travel into other dimensions of life, where you life and everything about it is completely different and is lived by your 'alter'. Only now the scientists have invented ways to change co-ordinates and more worryingly without the user knowing in certain circumstances.

Jane, who loves her sweetheart Randy is also the love of infactuated Anton's life. As she celebrates her latest achievements she is encouraged by her colleague to take a short trip in the multiverser but little did she know that Anton would hijack it and take her to another dimension where she is no longer married to Ritchie with two lovely children. She is now Anton's nanny with no knowledge of her previous life.

When Randy realises, the cat and mouse chase begins, in and out of numerous dimensions, different lives and scenarios. Will Randy and the Federation finally be able to stop the viciously clever and sneaky Anton and rescue Jane?

Yet again the author has baffled me with how she puts this all together and manages to keep on top of it to keep the story interesting and alive. I did have to flick back a few times to keep up myself but that's the beauty of being involved in the chase. I found myself looking forward to every moment available to read more and the short chapters didn't help when trying to put the book down.

I would definitely recommend reading the first book, Order of the Dimensions, first as it's a great introduction to the fantastic characters in the wonderful storyline."

Eclair Goes to Stella by Michelle Weidenbenner is 'short and sweet – and funny!' exclaims Girl of 1000 Wonders.

"Claire (called Eclair) and her baby sister, Meggie, have to roadtrip from Florida to Indiana to live with their grandma. The first meeting is absolutely hilarious! Claire takes everything literally and is quite an insightful kid. The chapters about the first day being at Stella’s cracked me up!

Claire’s voice is clear and distinct, and spot-on for a child her age.

The story is very representative of our current culture, and speaking from a teacher’s perspective, very true about our kids. A lot of kids now are raised by another family member – a grandparent or aunt/uncle, and that’s what happens in this book. It also brings up the white elephant of mental illness in our society, and Claire shares a few comments about living with a parent who suffers from depression, which explains their visit to stay with (grandma) Stella."

Miki's Hope had fun reading Seaside Dreams by Melissa Foster and recommends the entire Love in Bloom series!

"It is such fun reading about these four friends. Bella is the steadiest one in the group, and the one who most who loves doing things they shouldn't really do. She has stayed at a job for 5 years etc etc etc in Connecticut. She made a slight mistake by dating a fellow teacher--oops--well it ended and although Bella didn't really care she decided to change her life around. She had always had a dream and she decided to follow it.

Leanne had followed her dream and now had her own business year round at the Cape and a hunk of a husband! The only difference being--Bella decided she was NOT going to date-period end of sentence. Now we all know that can't happen in a Romance book! But if you don't find yourself laughing as she has not-a-dates with a really nice police officer who just also happens to be a single Dad of a teenager----Of course the teen gets in a bit of trouble but is a really good kid at heart and Bella wants to help (she is a high school teacher after all).

Does Bella realize her dream? Does she finally decide that not-a-boyfriend is someone she can not let go of? Read this book to find out--actually read this series it is great!"

The Goodbye Cancer Garden  by Janna Matthies explores how one family walks through the valley of trials and tribulations as they manage their lives when struck with a cancer diagnosis. The beautifully illustrated book, as well as the thoughtful story makes it a good book to help a child when a parent is diagnosed with cancer. http://inspiredbooksguide.com/review-goodbye-cancer-garden/
