New book blogger here (thenewdorkreviewofbooks.blogspot.com) - just getting started, and wondering if any of you could shoot me some advice on how to locate readers. I suck at self-marketing, so I am hoping the community here can provide some tips about strategies or sites (other than facebook) used to land loyal readers. Thanks for your help!
Some great advice here! I'd also recommend joining a few weekly memes. They're fun, and by linking your meme post to the host's site, you'll get some traffic from other meme participants. The one's who like your blog will become loyal readers.
Great blog! I'm a follower now. I love your Dork at Work pic. :) Check out my blog if you get a chance (I just started out too and trying to figure all this out)...
Really, for me, it's reviews. I'm not very interested in reading about reading challenges and how people are fulfilling them. I like good reviews without all the fluff, and I also enjoy good writing. I like your blog; I am following it now.
I love getting in on these blog trades because I find so much new, great writing. So, here's my blog, and Greg, I read yours and it's great. I'd love a follow, or any feedback as well
Right now, I have a post on my fear of marriage... Jen's Blog
Hi Greg,
I review books too. Social networks are great for posting a link to your review site, like you said. I've found a few other places that accept reviews too. Places like Goodreads.com or Shelfari.com even let you add the book if they don't have it in their list. You can Google to find review sites. There are even a few that will pay for your review! Alibris.com takes reviews as does Barnes & Noble, Borders & Books A Million to name a few. I've found quite a few sites that take reviews. We can't forget Amazon or the books publisher. Most of the publishers have a bookstore & want customer reviews. Well, I put my reviews here. Always read their TOS. Some sites won't take any links at all. I hope this gives you a start. If you join Goodreads, look me up!
Deb :-)
