Twitter is a great place to make connections with other book bloggers and to promote your blog. There are tons of us on Twitter now and it's so much fun! I thought I'd link over to some various resources to help you out.
Run by Darren Rowse, you should definitely subscribe to TwiTip. Has just about everything you need.
Friend or follow. I use this one a lot. I just unfollowed 50 people who were not following me back and I felt like were just boging down my timeline. It also makes me sad because there are like 20-30 bloggers who I wish were following me but aren't.
I love Twitter Counter. I use it to put a badge on my blog of the number of followers I have. Also, it confirmed that as soon as I put a custom background on, my follower numbers shot straight up.
Here's a tip I'm not sure is in the posts listed above.
If you use a URL shortener to tweet links, bit.ly will give you stats about how many people and who retweets the links, how many people click the link, and when.
All you need to do is put the bit.ly URL in your browser bar and add a + after it. When you go to that URL you will see the stats. This works for any bit.ly URL, not just one that you have created.
Has anyone used the retweet plugin for Wordpress mentioned first up above? I'm using the sociable plugin and notice the Tweet, Digg, etc. buttons only appear if you click on a specific post. I was wondering if someone is just reading through my blog if I can get a retweet button to show up for every post without having to open them up. Thanks!
