BOOK WORLD iUNIVERSE ~ COME SHARE YOUR IDEAS & THOUGHTS

Writing stories about vampires doesn't have to mean spooky castles and bloody scenes. The sensual undertones of vampires open the door for stories focusing on vampire romance rather than gore. Writing a vampire romance novel involves more than putting two characters in a forbidden romance. It also requires strong plot development and fully-developed characters.

Study the vampire romance genre. Read as many vampire romance novels as you can. Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" series and Shannon Drake's books are good examples. Note what you like about each book and what you don't like; this helps you from falling into clichés and can inspire you to put your own twist on the genre.  Read more at: http://bookworldi.webs.com/

(Giveaway hosted by Tobias books)
(go here for the details of the giveaway - http://le-grande-codex.blogspot.com/2011/08/giveaway-keeping-grace-...)

For the past five years, accomplished hit man Jessie Conners has been secretly in love with Gracie Talbot, stepdaughter of his boss, Rudy Talbot. Rudy is head of America’s largest crime ring and due to Gracie’s perceived meddling in Rudy’s business and political affairs, Rudy wants her dead. As usual, Rudy turns to his number one hit man, Jessie, to make the kill.

Jessie and Gracie met during a chance encounter five years ago and Jessie has yet to tell Gracie he has feelings for her. Jessie is faced with the gut wrenching decision to either assassinate the woman he loves to keep himself and his crew in Rudy’s good graces or to attempt to save Gracie, thereby risking everything and ensuring that he, Gracie, and his crew would spend the rest of their lives running from Rudy and his mercenaries.

This week we take a look at the oft-maligned Fallen, an entire 400 page book dedicated to our heroine slowly figuring out what kind of supernatural creature her boyfriend is, even though it's in the fucking title.

So no, this probably won't go well.

This week we take a look at Bumped, a satirical dystopian taking place in a future where the human race has gone sterile, and only teenagers have the ability to procreate. What is any good society to do?

Why sell fake pregnancy bellies to thirteen-year-olds so they can prepare for the joys of bearing children, and outlaw condoms, of course!

Read out review of Bumped by Megan McCafferty at You're Killing Me.
