BOOK WORLD iUNIVERSE ~ COME SHARE YOUR IDEAS & THOUGHTS

Writing stories about vampires doesn't have to mean spooky castles and bloody scenes. The sensual undertones of vampires open the door for stories focusing on vampire romance rather than gore. Writing a vampire romance novel involves more than putting two characters in a forbidden romance. It also requires strong plot development and fully-developed characters.

Study the vampire romance genre. Read as many vampire romance novels as you can. Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" series and Shannon Drake's books are good examples. Note what you like about each book and what you don't like; this helps you from falling into clichés and can inspire you to put your own twist on the genre.  Read more at: http://bookworldi.webs.com/

INK BY AMANDA SUN
PAPER GODS VOL 1

A wonderful change of scenery with a dive into the manners, tales and legends of Japan that suddenly are awaken to light.
Refreshing, exciting and poetic, this book blew me away.

I liked the supernatural scenes, the fighting ones against the ink, as much as the real fights in Shizuoka's streets and parcs.
A beautiful novel that won me over.

REBOOT BY AMY TINTERA
REBOOT VOL 1

It was a long time since I did not dive so instantly into a great dystopia.
I devoured this story, which is a combination of "Divergent" by Veronica Roth, "Delirium" by Lauren Oliver with peaks of "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins all covered in an anti-hero characters with supernatural strenght.
Personally, I loved it! I wanted to read more...

MILA 2.0 BY DEBRA DRIZA

Following Mila's adventures, I found myself having flashes of different sort of movies.
In the first place, "DARYL" by Simon Wincer, where a young adopted boy learns of his extraordinary abilities that have an interest for the military. This is the first part of the story, when Mila peacefully live with her mother in the Minessota, and she discovers her android side.

Between espionage, combats, laboratory rats experiences, android and human feelings, the reader do not get bored.

THE COLLECTOR BY VICTORIA SCOTT
DANTE WALKER VOL 1

A war between good and evil rather fun to follow.

The reader march on the footsteps of Dante, a soul's demon collector, who traded a life in hell against a life on earth to tempt humans. He is the serpent whispering to bite the forbidden fruit and then harvest the laurels when someone sin...

THE RIVER OF NO RETURN BY BEE RIDGWAY

I was expecting a romance like "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger with a poignant love story between Nick and Julia. Otherwise, I was assuming a science fiction tale with spies and chases like in the movie "Jumper" by Doug Liman with Hayden Christensen.
Well, I was quite positively surprised by the result proposed by Bee Ridgway, which was nothing like what I had imagined.

BITTERSWEET BLOOD BY NINA CROFT
THE ORDER VOL 1

Entertaining. This is the first word that comes to my mind. I was plunged into an "urban fantasy" with suspense, secrets, tons of supernatural entities. I took pleasure in turning pages. Amusing.

TEGAN'S MAGIC BY L.H. COSWAY
THE ULTIMATE POWER VOL 3

This third installment is action-packed! More magie, tragic situation and explosions. It is a festival that does not leave a minute of respite to the reader.

A descent into the depths of Tribane, where chaos and madness reign. A city with a power struggle between vampires, witches and slayers. Our heroes find themselves forced into a strange alliance and have to behave themself, if they want to survive in a city becoming completely mad.

Find out why BookGirlR feels silly.  Read her review of Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris here.
