My latest book's review. The Lions of Little Rock by Kristin Levine. For 8 up to 12 year-old children. It's a really good reading!

Little Rock, Arkansas, 1958. Marlee is a shy and introverted twelve- year-old. She loves maths and prime numbers, but she finds it really hard to talk to anyone except for her family.

One day, a new girl arrives at her school. Her name is Liz and it seems to be the friend that Judy was hoping that Marlee would find.

Things continue improving in Marlee's life till the day Liz, suddenly, disappears from school, apparently without any reason.

In the meantime Little Rock's high school is being kept closed by the local governor to protest against the new Integration Laws and to avoid white students from mixing with Negroes.

This is not properly a book. It's my ESL activity 'Guess Who?!?' I've just published it on Amazon. It's readable anyway ;o) I think it could be considered a book of riddles.

AT THE FAIR by Enric Lluch This cute illustrated book talks about a small young man, Alex, who is at the fair with his parents. He is 4 or 5 and can't resist the temptation of having everything he comes across in this amusing colorful place. So, when he sees the balloons, of course he wants one. And when he sees the toffee-apples kart, he can't resist having one. This book is edited by Algar Editorial and belongs to the collection 'First Steps' that presents positive messages about kids' environment throughout easy texts and full-page pictures, but not only that!  There's a little cartoon that appears on the top left corner of the left pages that will entertain your children once more.
