I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reviewing my new novel, Heaven Sent, which I am in the process of releasing. It is trangressional literary fiction, set in the beautiful town of Bristol, UK (until my heroes find themselves on the run and end up in London).

Sixteen year old Carlo has no experience of the world. He desperately wants eternity to provide an alternative to the strict moral imperative of his Catholic parents. When Daizee Byatt, a girl from the other side of the tracks, crashes into Carlo's life, the course of his future veers off the road. This is the story of what Heaven Sent.

It is dark, so a torch might be necessary for some sections - but at its heart Heaven Sent is a beautiful love story that somehow retains an innocence against some unfathomable odds. It is also quite a surreal tale that knocks on the doors of magic realism. Here's the first chapter, it'll give you a taste of the style. http://xavierleret.com/?p=145#more-145

This is an ebook only release. I will be doing a printed book later in the year so I am looking to gather some momentum for that.

I'd be really happy to hear from anybody who might also be into the idea of hosting me on a blog tour - that would be truly fabulous and humbling.

I would be very interested in finding out if this works for a YA audience too even though I did not write with that in mind...

You can contact me at xav@xavierleret.com or simply reply to this thread. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Xavier,

Just been reading an extract of Heaven Sent on your blog and would really like to read it in its entirety, if you'll allow me to.

I'm a new blogger, but I've just been accepted as a reviewer for two other book blog authors. I'm your average bookwork...I'll read anything that catches my attention/imagination or both.

My blog is: http://spritebysbokhylle.wordpress.com

PDF is probably the best format for me, although I do have Kindle for PC. I hope you'll consider me as a reviewer. My email is: urbansprite@ovi.com

Best,
Lizzie aka Spriteby
HI Eva, thats really kind. I'll drop you line, in the morning. My children won't go to bed now... Xav

Hey Kari, that's excellent. I'll drop you line.

I just read your excerpt. Kind of fun trying to read with an English accent after all this time. I'd certainly be interested in reading more (though I'm not sure what transgressional literary is). My blog is http://sheiladeeth.blogspot.com and I could host you sometime.

Hi Sheila

I like the wiki first line

Transgressive fiction is a genre of literature that focuses on characters who feel confined by the norms and expectations of society and who break free of those confines in unusual and/or illicit ways.

Early examples include Dostoevsky, Zola, Joyce and more modern work would include that of Burroughs, Hubert Selby Jnr, JG Ballard and Michel Houllebeqc. All of whom I love, though I think as well for this I owe as much to Marquez.

I'd love you to host me, that would be really fantastic. And I have enjoyed what I have seen of you blog. And thank you for the comment on mine. Are you a Brit in exile?

Sounds interesting however, I have no eBook capabilities at time present, if you are ever looking for print reviewers, please contact me~!  http://www.bookreviewsandotherstuff.blogspot.com or heavensent1 at yahoo dot com

My tag name is Heavensent1...your title REALLY caught my eye...LOL
