Hi! My name is Lillian Archer and I am a newbie here on Book Blogs. My first historical fantasy title is set for a September release date. What is the typical time frame reviewers/bloggers need to have a review posted? THanks!

I find that I am behind on my readings now and so have not requested books to read. I would suggest at least a month and possibly more if you can. I find the book in hand works better for me than the e-books because they "stare" at me.
Also, suggest a time frame that you would like for a review; this helps give the reader a deadline.
Good luck,
Leona

THanks so much! I will keep this in mind as the release date approaches.

I need the book in hand at least a month before the review date, which means that a request for reviews is best received at least a month before that.
Then again, I'm swamped enough right now that no lead time is likely to be enough :-).

Wow! That was my concern- so many reviewers are swamped with product already. Thanks for your input!

Hi Lillian
Welcome to Book Blogs! It's a great place of lovely, like-minded people.
With regards to your question, all depends on the reviewer! Any good reviewer will tell you of their timescales. As Leona and Laura have mentioned, allowing a month before the release date is ideal, but as you'll find, some reviewers read faster than others and therefore can meet your specified deadline way before.
When I've been asked to review books, I always ask the author if they have a deadline in mind and I arrange my reading time according to those deadlines. Also, let the reviewer know the format of your book. I prefer a 'real' book and it irked me a little to only get an e-reader version, but tis the way of the world!
Hope it all goes well for you.

I do like at least a month. My queue is so long, that sometimes it takes longer.

Silver's Reviews

It varies from blogger to blogger. I'd suggest giving them a copy ASAP. They might be able to read your book in a week or so but if they have posts scheduled it might be a month or more before they can post your review. Do NOT wait until the last minute to send out copies.
