Queston about Author Interviews ??

I am looking to do author interviews on my blog. Since I am new to this I was wondering how many questions are a good fit for an author interview. What is a good number? I don't want to overwhelm the authors. Do any of you vary the number of your questions per author, or do you keep the same number of questions for all?
