Jo Walton's Among Others is a fantasy tale for realists, and a companion to anyone who spent their childhood growing up among books and otherworldly secrets. Highly recommended, and this is one novel not to be missed!

THE GIST:

A Peace Corps volunteer spends two years teaching English literature in Fuling on the Yangtze River and getting to know the local people and the language.
